What is a URL shortener?

It turns a long web address into a short link that opens the same destination.

Do links expire?

There is no automatic expiry date. Links can be blocked or removed for abuse, and their availability depends on this service and the destination remaining online. An intermediate page may appear.

Do I need an account?

No. Paste your URL and create your short link right away.

Is the API free?

Yes. Generate a key and use the API to create short links in your applications.

How do I download the QR code?

Create a short link, then select Download QR in the result. The PNG opens that short link when scanned. Test it on your phone before sharing or printing.

Can I shorten private or confidential URLs?

Use public addresses only. A short link is not a password: its destination, title and description may appear on a public preview page and in search results. Local, private-network and blocked destinations are rejected.
