How to split a PDF online

Choose one PDF, pick pages visually or enter ranges such as 1-3, 6, 8-10. You can also divide the complete document every set number of pages. Each part keeps its original PDF page content and order.

  1. Choose a PDFSelect or drop one unlocked PDF from your device.
  2. Choose pages or groupsClick page previews, enter ranges, or set pages per file.
  3. Download the resultsSave one PDF directly or download multiple parts in a ZIP.

Choose the right split mode

Selected pages creates one PDF per checked page. Page ranges creates one PDF for each comma-separated range. Fixed chunks divides the entire file into consecutive groups of the same size, with a smaller final group when needed.

Split PDF or extract pages: which option should you use?

Splitting creates several PDF files, while extracting usually combines only the pages you need into one new document. Use selected pages for one PDF per chosen page, ranges for one file per group, or fixed chunks to divide the complete document every N pages.

Split PDF pages without reducing their quality

The tool copies the original PDF pages into new documents instead of converting them to images or intentionally compressing them. Text and visual page content keep their original clarity, although complex interactive features can still depend on the PDF reader.

Supported files and practical limits

Use one unlocked PDF up to 50 MB and 500 pages. A split can create at most 200 output files and 300 MB of results. Large or complex PDFs may need more memory, especially on phones.

Split PDF questions

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. Reading, previewing, splitting, and ZIP creation all happen locally in this browser.

Can I split every page into a separate PDF?

Yes. Choose Selected pages and Select all, or use Fixed chunks with one page per file.

How do custom ranges work?

Enter comma-separated groups such as 1-3, 6, 8-10. Each group becomes a separate PDF and ranges may overlap.

Does splitting reduce PDF quality?

No. The tool copies original PDF pages without turning them into images, so page quality is preserved.

Can I split a password-protected PDF?

No. Remove the password with an authorized tool first, then select the unlocked PDF.

What are the limits?

One PDF up to 50 MB and 500 pages is supported, with no more than 200 output files and 300 MB of generated data.

Why do multiple files download as a ZIP?

A ZIP keeps all generated PDFs together and avoids many separate browser download prompts.

Can I split a PDF on a phone or tablet?

Yes. Use a current browser on Android, iPhone, or a tablet. Processing stays on the device, so large or complex PDFs may take longer on devices with limited memory.
