Count and review your text in one place
The editor updates while you type. It measures words, user-perceived characters, characters without whitespace, sentences, paragraphs, unique words, and estimated reading and speaking time.
Keyword density shows the most repeated one-, two-, or three-word terms. Common words can be excluded so useful topics stand out without suggesting an artificial SEO target.
How words and characters are counted
The tool uses the browser’s language-aware segmenter when available. Apostrophes, hyphens, emoji, and languages without spaces can produce different results in other editors, so use the required platform’s count for strict submissions.
Which text count should you use?
Use words for essays and editorial briefs, characters for form or layout limits, characters without spaces when the destination requires it, and speaking time for scripts. When a platform enforces a limit, its own final count takes priority.
Private writing checks without an upload
Analysis happens locally and the draft is not stored. Native browser spellcheck remains available, while the writing panel flags repeated adjacent words, extra spaces, repeated punctuation, and unusually long sentences.
Limits and performance
Text up to 1,000,000 characters is supported. Very large drafts may take longer on low-memory devices. Formatting is intentionally treated as plain text when copied or downloaded.
