Tell Me Your Secrets (2021)
Three strangers become connected by secrets from their past
Credit: Prime Video
Tell Me Your Secrets follows three people whose lives intersect under the strangest circumstances. The story begins when Emma (Lily Rabe) is released from jail and tries to rebuild her life after becoming involved with a serial killer. John (Hamish Linklater) is a former predator trying to find redemption, while Mary (Amy Brenneman) is searching for her missing daughter.
Emma, John, and Mary all have something to hide. And their separate stories eventually overlap. The series expertly blends psychological suspense with a mystery that keeps shifting as new information emerges. Instead of focusing on a single investigation, it explores how guilt, obsession, and the desire for redemption can drive people to extreme lengths.

Reacher Season 4 (2026)
Jack Reacher gets pulled into another dangerous mystery
Reacher follows the titular former military investigator, Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson), who tends to stumble into trouble. In the fourth season, Reacher becomes involved in a dangerous mystery after a chance encounter with a stranger on a Philadelphia subway leads him into a search for a missing flash drive. The device contains information that several groups are willing to kill for.
The series has become one of Prime Video's biggest hits since it premiered in 2022. Season 4 attracted 66 million viewers in its first 28 days, and Amazon has already renewed the show for a fifth and sixth season. For most people, Ritchson is the main reason to watch Reacher because he does a great job of playing someone who can handle himself in a fight.

Wilderness (2023)
A discovery of infidelity turns a road trip into a plan for revenge
Credit: Prime Video
Wilderness tells the story of Liv Taylor (Jenna Coleman), whose perfect marriage to Will (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) starts to develop some major cracks when she discovers he's been having an affair. Will tries to repair their relationship by taking Liv on a road trip. But Liv has other plans. As her desire for revenge grows, a series of increasingly dangerous events threatens to destroy their lives.
The series is basically a story about how betrayal can push someone to make decisions they never would have considered. Coleman gives Liv a sympathetic vibe as she struggles to manage her anger and heartbreak. Her portrayal of the characters' increasingly disturbing choices keeps the story entertaining even when the plot stretches believability.

Countdown (2025)
A police investigation turns into a bigger conspiracy
Credit: Prime Video
Countdown follows LAPD detective Mark Meachum (Jensen Ackles), who is recruited into a secret task force after a Department of Homeland Security officer is murdered. The team's investigation eventually leads them to a bigger conspiracy. The most interesting thing about this show is how it brings together agents with different expertise. It gives the series a different dynamic from a standard police procedural.
The show also has a ticking-clock element that adds urgency to the investigation. As the team uncovers more information, the consequences of their work grow, and the agents have to make decisions without always knowing who to trust. Ackles does a great job of playing a detective who's used to working his own way but has to learn to operate as part of a team.

Carrie (2026)
An old horror story gets a modern high school makeover
Carrie tells the story of teenager Carrie White (Summer H. Howell), who's spent most of her life alone while under the control of her strict mother, Margaret (Samantha Sloyan). After her father's sudden death, Carrie starts attending high school and has to deal with bullying and the pressures of fitting in while discovering she has telekinetic powers.
The series brings the classic Stephen King story into the modern day, with social media playing a role in the way Carrie is treated by her classmates. Mike Flanagan's version has eight episodes, which gives it more freedom to expand the story. Howell offers a slightly different interpretation of Carrie from the movie versions, while Sloyan's Margaret is a major presence in her daughter's life.

Mixing genres can make a binge more interesting
The easiest way to get tired of a streaming service is to keep watching shows that give you exactly the same experience. A week of crime dramas can start to blur together, just as several similar romances can begin to feel predictable. So rather than picking one genre and sticking with it all week, it makes more sense to let the mood change from one show to the next.
That's what makes the shows on this list especially useful. Carrie will appeal to horror fans and anyone who likes coming-of-age stories. Tell Me Your Secrets is a solid option for fans of twisty thrillers. Wilderness is entertaining because its characters' motives aren't always what they seem. Reacher adds action to a detective story. And Countdown combines the police procedural with a larger conspiracy.
